The work is an acrylic painting referring to the date paintings of On Kawara, where the artist had simply painted the date when he made the painting. Ivan Moudov seems to repeat Kawara’s gesture, but his choice of an impossible date – like December 32nd, 2017 – reveals the relativity of our experience and the fictional aspect in all narrative of time, art or life.
