Back and Forward is an installation, on the topic of collecting and exchanging art, which is present in many of Ivan Moudov’s works. In the gallery space the artist exhibits ten unopened packages, each of them containing a stolen piece from an artwork. During the duration of the show the artist continues to ship packages with newly stolen pieces of works, creating in the end an installation of 25 unopened boxes.
The work is based on Ivan Moudov’s long term project “Fragments”, 2002 – 2010 - a subversive strategy of creating an art collection from parts of works of art stolen from different exhibitions and renowned museum displays.
