Garbage 4, 2020-2021

Garbage 4, 2020-2021. As the title suggests, this is the 4th work in Ivan Moudov’s series dealing with the question of waste. The installation consists of various large plastic bottles filled with other household plastic waste. This recycling innovation is again imported from South Africa, where a friend of the artist was using this method of sorting his household plastic waste alongside with composting for organic waste. This waste sorting rationalization is turned here into objects of art. The bottles are filled not only with garbage but with traces of our daily lives as well as with the feel-good vibes of conscious and eco-friendly waste-disposal.
