A street lamp is transposed from the public space into the space of the gallery. As an art object and according to exhibition standards it is lit by spotlights, concurrently depriving it of its basic function - that of emitting light itself. Like the Moon, the lamp creates the illusion of shining, while in fact it only reflects the light projected on it. The lamp becomes a center-stage object, instead of its usual supporting role of shedding light on the objects surrounding it.
