Aluminum letters on the wall spell in words an astronomically large number that could be light years, number of stars, a geological age or the fortune of the 30st richest man in the world… In fact this is only the artist’s cell phone number. Each time the work is exhibited the number is different as the artist is getting a local phone number for each location. Also forming part of the exhibit is the cell phone itself, with all the contacts stored on the SIM card, and the text messages exchanged. All of these give access to one of the artist’s most important tools in the world of art—his social capital.
