Still Life, 2000 is a series of photographs, which depict a couple in a bourgeois house interior. By using the language of life style photography, the works show a variety of possible emotional conditions in a couple’s life, such as: erotic thrill, fatigue, love, suspense, boredom. All of them are theatrically played out in front of the camera and visibly staged, emphasizing on the estrangement between the people and the way media culture exposes and re-shapes our notions of self. The photographs are made by Alexander Gerganov.
