This is Not a Work is a site-specific installation, presented for the first time in W139 – Space for Contemporary Art, Amsterdam. The artist created a hidden water system above the ceiling of the gallery space, enabling, instead of protecting from weather changes. Whenever there is rain, the ceiling in the gallery starts leaking, sabotaging the impression of a neat white cube and making the gallery look like an abandoned, neglected space.
