Nineteen Problems, Nineteen Paintings, 2013 addresses the challenges of the actual space of the institution. As the title suggests, in this particular case the artist had to deal with 19 disruptive elements on the walls assigned for his presentation in a group exhibition (light switches, air vents, electric sockets, etc.). After carefully measuring all of these “problems” the artist then chose artworks from the museum collection, which could fit onto those elements and cover them. The result is a rather bizarre hanging, which turns the viewer’s attention away from the artworks onto their function as camouflage and finally towards the walls of the gallery itself.
